About Us
Established in 2013, Shore Soaps is a gourmet soapery with locations in Cape May, NJ and Stone Harbor, NJ. All of our products are made by us, by hand, in small batches at our production facility in Cape May County. Our products are 100% vegan (no animal bi-products used), and cruelty free, from our ingredients to product testing. We only use the purest and highest quality essential oils which are steam-distilled right from the plant. We do not use any parabens, or harmful chemicals or preservatives in the making of our products. Our soaps are hand-cut, and cured for 4-6 weeks before shrink wrapping at peak-perfection and then distributed to our 20+ stockists, and our own store shelves. You can also find us at West End Garage in Cape May, as well as many festivals, farmers markets, and events in the area. Interested in learning our candle making craft? Book a pour-your-own candle workshop with us at our Candle Bar in Stone Harbor, or POUR | Candle Bar & Chandlery in Cape May. Click here for more information and to book your seat today!
Meet the maker
Corinne Rietheimer
Corinne was born and raised in Cape May, NJ. She started experimenting with soap making in 2014 and it quickly spiraled from a hobby into a business. After a year of selling at local farmers markets, and on Etsy, she opened her first brick & mortar storefront, the Shore Soaps flagship store on Washington street in Cape May in 2015 and then a second Shore Soaps store in Stone Harbor, NJ in 2018. In 2020, after the COVID madness people felt a growing need for group activities again, and candle making classes were added to Shore Soaps Cape May's offerings. The classes quickly grew in popularity and with it, a need for a bigger space. In April 2024, she opened Pour Candle Bar & Chandlery just a few blocks away in West Cape May. Today, you will find Corinne (and shop dog Cecilia) bopping between all 3 of the store locations and the warehouse / production facility. All the products that are made in all 3 store locations (and the Shore Soaps booth at West End Garage) are still made by hand, by Corinne.
